Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling 509 of its 2017 Nissan Versa and 2017 Versa Note vehicles due to a problem with the airbags.
The problem is linked to a defective ring plate that is used to secure the air bag cushion with the front air bag assembly on the passenger side of the vehicle. If the ring plate fails it could cause the air bag to deploy improperly should there be a collision.
The auto manufacturer intends to notify owners and direct them to take their vehicle to the dealership to have the frontal air bag module replaced at no charge. There is no timeline for this to happen, but questions may be directed to Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
