2022, 2023 Tacoma Pickup Trucks Recalled
Toyota Motor North America plans to recall roughly 381,000 of its 2022 and 2023 Tacoma midsize pickup trucks in the United States due to a faulty part that could fall off and increase the risk of a collision.
Indeed, the automaker reports that welding debris left at the ends of axles could allow some nuts to loosen and separate from the rear axle while the vehicles are traveling.
If the nuts fall off and the part separates from the axle, drivers could experience instability and it could affect the performance of brakes in these pickup trucks.
At this time, it’s unknown if Toyota has had any collisions or any injuries reported from the issue.
Toyota dealerships will be required to conduct an inspection of the rear axle as well as tighten up the retaining nuts.
If there are any damaged components, Toyota will repair or replace them at no charge to owners.
Customers can expect to receive a notification from Toyota by mail in late April 2024.
