Nissan Recalls Vehicles Due to Faulty Doors
Nissan has issued a recall affecting more than 26,400 vehicles after discovering a manufacturing defect that could cause doors to open while the vehicle is in motion.
According to the recallnotice by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the issue involves an improperly welded door striker. If the weld fails, the door latch may not hold the door securely, increasing the risk of injury during normal driving or a crash.
Drivers may notice a rattling noise before failure occurs. Nissan has reported no known injuries or crashes linked to the defect at this time.
Affected models include:
-
2025–2026 Nissan Frontier (8,383)
-
2025 Nissan Altima (7,627)
-
2025 Nissan Sentra (6,988)
-
2026 Nissan Kicks (3,434)
The vehicles were built between August and September 2025 at Nissan plants in Michigan and Mexico. Nissan says dealers will replace the door strikers free of charge, with repairs taking approximately 30 minutes.
Owner notifications are expected to begin March 13. The NHTSA recall number is 26V023.
