A recent Ford recall affects mostly 2021 models including the Escape, Lincoln Corsair and both the 2021 and 2022 Bronco Sport.
Some 13,334 vehicles are having issues with the fuel delivery module. This may lead to a leak inside of the fuel tank, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If that happens, there could be low fuel pressure and the car’s engine may stall. This is dangerous because it could lead to a collision.
The Ford Motor Company acknowledges there is a problem. They request owners of these vehicles to take them to the dealership for a free repair. At the dealership, the fuel delivery model will be replaced with a new one.
Ford owners may contact the auto maker’s customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 21S38. Additionally, owners may contact the National Highway Traffc Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Just because your vehicle has a recall, doesn’t mean it’s a lemon. If you have repeated issues, a major safety issue or your vehicle is in the shop for 30 days or more, it’s a good idea to contact a California lemon law attorney.
