The 2016 Ford Focus got our attention, but not in a good way.
Disgruntled owners of the Ford Focus have brought their complaints to our Lemon Law firm and here’s what they told us. They had transmission problems, cooling system issues, clutch problems, electrical, drive train, fuel system and more.
Johnson Attorneys Group hears complaints from consumers every year, but some vehicles more often than others. We listen to their concerns, field questions and determine whether or not they have a lemon based on California and federal laws. We noticed there was a trend this year, we got more calls and complaints about late-model Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta vehicles than any other brand or model.
The 2012 to 2016 Ford Focus and 2011 to 2016 Ford Fiesta ranked at the top of our list of problematic vehicles we handled last year for clients.
These clients had vehicles that were still protected by their original factory warranty, but repeated attempts to repair them, safety issues and or too many weeks in the shop was more than our clients could put up with. A consumer should expect their vehicle to be dependable and safe to operate.
When a vehicle is constantly giving you problems, you should know that there is help. Under California Lemon Laws, the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, a vehicle taken to a factory authorized dealership for warranty repairs at least four times for the same serious problem and remains un-repaired could devalue your car and threaten your safety. So if this happens, you may have a legal claim.
Additionally, if there is a serious safety risk, you may only have to take the vehicle in for repairs two times before it is deemed a lemon. Owners whose cars have been in the shop for at least 30 days may also have a claim.

I have a 2016 Ford Focus bought it at 20,000 miles took it in to have the transmission clutch repaired at 70000 Mi they fixed it still under warranty clutch is slipping again at 100000 miles took it back to the shop twice and they said it doesn’t slip enough get that and it’s still under warranty for another 3000 miles so basically they’re saying I’m supposed to drive a car that has a transmission that slips every day
