Owners Complained About Engine Stalling and Knocking
Toyota issued a recall recently for roughly 100,000 Tundra pickup trucks and 3,500 Lexus LX 600 SUVs.
The automaker reports the affected vehicles are equipped with a V35A engine. These vehicles have been running rough, knocking, and stalling because debris from the manufacturing process was possibly left inside.
“Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power,” the recall states.
Owners of the 2002 and 2023 Toyota Tundra pickup trucks and Lexus LX 600 luxury SUVs will need repairs to fix the problem. The recall is specific to gasoline-powered engines, not the hybrid versions of these vehicles such as the Tundra iForce Max.
At this time, there is no remedy for the vehicles, but Toyota is working out a solution. The company will notify owners of the recall for the affected pickup and SUV vehicles by the end of July.
Hopefully, there will be an announcement soon, and at that time owners will need to return their vehicle to a Toyota dealer for free repairs.
