Ford Recalls 800 Broncos
Ford Motor Co. has issued a recall for 801 of its 2023 Ford Broncos due to a potential leak in the valve in the anti-lock brake system. The valve leak could cause an unexpected shift in the response time for braking.
Specifically, when a driver presses the brake pedal it should activate the brakes and there should not be a delay. However, the automaker reports instances where the “driver may experience a longer brake pedal travel without warning, ” Ford said in its NHTSA report. “This condition may be intermittent, resulting in inconsistent
pedal travel.”
Additionally, there may also be unexpected creeping movements when the driver activates the vehicle’s auto vehicle hold feature. This may be due to a leak present in the back valves that are normally closed, the report said.
2023 Ford Bronco Recall
The company issued a recall because two features could increase the risk of a crash in a 2023 Ford Bronco, Ford told the NHTSA.
At this time, Ford is unaware of any collisions stemming from these issues.
Meanwhile, Ford intends to notify owners between Feb. 15 and Feb. 17. Bronco owners may taken their vehicle to a Lincoln or Ford dealer for a free ABS module replacement.
