The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is aware of at least one fire resulting from the issue. They reported the brake pressure switch in these Chevrolet work truck that could short and cause an under-the-hood fire that could quickly spread throughout the vehicle.
Specifically, the short-circuit may result if the brake pressure sensor assembly leaks fluid into the pressure switch. This could cause a fire whether the pickup truck is on the road or parked, the NHTSA reported.
