Over 1 Million Jeep Wranglers & Gladiators Recalled Over Fire Risk — Is Your Vehicle Unsafe?
Owners of certain Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles are being warned to take immediate precautions after a major safety recall involving more than one million vehicles that could face an increased fire risk — even while parked.
The recall affects select 2021–2025 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator models equipped with an electric hydraulic power steering system. According to Reuters, federal safety filings stated a defect in the steering pump wiring may create excessive electrical resistance, potentially causing overheating and, in rare cases, a vehicle fire.
Because of the potential danger, Jeep is advising drivers to park affected vehicles outdoors and away from homes, garages, and other vehicles until repairs are completed.
Recalled Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Warning Signs
Warning signs may include a “Service Power Steering” dashboard alert or unexpected steering-related problems. While the automaker says no crashes linked to the issue have been reported, at least one injury may be connected to the defect.
Owner notifications are expected to begin this summer, and impacted drivers can check their VIN through federal recall databases or Jeep’s recall system.
