Hyundai Recall 569,000 Palisade SUVs Over Airbag Defect

Hyundai Recalls 569,000 Palisade SUVs Over Airbag Defect

Hyundai Motor Company announced a major airbag safety recall affecting nearly 569,000 Palisade SUVs after federal regulators warned they may fail to deploy properly in a crash.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall covers 2020–2025 Hyundai Palisade model-year vehicles. Specifically, the issue involves the side curtain airbags for third-row passengers, which may deploy improperly during a collision.

“Defective airbags put drivers and their passengers at serious risk for injuries or death,” said Lemon Law Attorney James Johson.

NHTSA said the defect means the vehicles do not meet federal motor vehicle safety standards. This raises concerns about passenger protection in the event of a crash. The airbags were supplied by Autoliv, a company based in Sweden and the world’s largest manufacturer of airbags and seatbelts.

Additionally, airbag defects are particularly serious because they involve systems designed to prevent catastrophic injuries. If a recalled vehicle continues to experience safety issues after repair attempts? Or if the defect substantially affects safety, value, or use? Owners may have rights under California’s Lemon Law.

Furthermore, eligible consumers could be entitled to the following depending on the circumstances:

  • A buyback or replacement vehicle

  • Reimbursement for related expenses

  • Recovery of attorneys’ fees and costs

If you own or lease a Hyundai Palisade affected by this airbag recall and are experiencing ongoing safety concerns, it may be worth speaking with a lemon law attorney to understand your options.
