High Beam Headlights Triggered by Turn Signals in 2023 Ram Pickup Trucks

Ram’s Turn Signals Accidentally Switch on High Beams

Owners of certain models of the 2023 Ram pickup trucks report their high beam headlights inadvertently turn on when they use their turn signals and visa versa.

The issue has been reportedly happening in several 2023 models including the Ram 1500 Classic, Ram 3500 Classic, and 3500 Cab Chassis as well as the 2023 and 2024 Ram 2500, 4500, and 5500 Cab Chassis and Ram 3500 pickup trucks, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Furthermore, the turn signal’s self-canceling feature is problematic and may not function correctly.

Now Chrysler has issued a recall for more than 142,000 of the above vehicles to fix potential issues in the steering column control model as it may activate high beam headlights when the driver hits the turn signals. The reverse is also happening where the turn signal is activated when the high beams or brights are turned on.
