660,000 Heavy-duty Ram Pickups Recalled for Steering Control Issue
The automaker only knows of one injury that was related to a crash from this problem, however, it is aware of eight collisions and one injury.
At issue is a loose nut that can lead to a loss of steering. The vehicles affected by the problem are Ram 3500 pickups from 2013 through 2017, as well as 2500 pickups and 3500 Chassis cabs from 2014 through 2017. To fix the problem, the nut will be properly tightened and welded into a sleeve to keep it in place. In some cases, the steering assembly may have to be replaced.
The problem was identified during an internal investigation. The majority of the vehicles affected are located in the United States and Canada.

Ram Light-Duty Trucks Recalled for Faulty Brake Pedal
A second recall affecting the Ram brand is for roughly 194,000 light-duty trucks in the U.S. This recall is the result of brake pedals that can fall off.
The recall will cover certain 2019 Ram pickups with adjustable brake pedals. Fortunately, roughly a third of the vehicles with this problem are still at dealerships so they will be fixed before they’re delivered.
The company reports that the 2019 Ram Classic is not affected.
The problem specifically is in the adjustable motorized brake pedals which are activated by a switch in the cab. If a driver moves the pedals to their rear-most position, it’s possible that the brake pedal may detach itself.
The automaker is asking drivers to not to adjust pedals until the trucks have been fixed. Also, they warn that these pedals should never be adjusted while driving.
The company plans to fix the problem by installing a fastener and spacer to restrict travel of the pedals.
