Reality Check: Cadillac Escalade Disappoints Many Owners
The iconic Cadillac Escalade may be a top choice of Hollywood celebrities, rappers and rich soccer moms, but regular folks who own the late-model Cadillac Escalade SUVs say their $73,000 to $100,000 luxury SUV is not living up to expectations — nor its high-end price tag.
Indeed, the gas-guzzling SUV is ubiquitous among the rich and famous in “La La Land.” A standout for its classy looks and roomy size, but poor reliability has sparked dozens of online complaints by owners who say the vehicle is literally falling apart or breaking down on a regular basis.
The problems go back as far as 2014 with complaints about the transmission system and powertrain as well as inferior interior and exterior parts. If you are looking for a status symbol, this is your car. But if you want reliability, you’ll likely be disappointed with the Escalade’s performance.
“Owners of luxury lemons such as the Cadillac Escalade don’t have put up with these problems,” says renowned California Lemon Law Attorney James Johnson. “You can get your money back or a replacement vehicle in some cases, but without legal representation it may be a difficult pursuit.”
Consumer Reports states the 2016 models should be avoided at all costs because they have poor quality and reliability for their power equipment and audio system.
