Nissan Recalls 120,000 Cars, SUVs Due to Brake Fluid Fire Risk

Nissan brake fluid problems recall DETROIT, Michigan (September 9, 2016) –-Nissan has announced the recall of some 120,000 cars and SUVs in the United States and more than 10,000 in Canada due to a potential fire risk after the discovery of a brake fluid leak in some vehicles.

The automaker reports that brake fluid seals may leak and drip onto internal electrical circuit boards causing a short that could ignite a fire. The vehicle’s Anti-Lock Brake actuator pump will need to be fixed.

The risk is so serious that Nissan has suggested owners of affected vehicles refrain from driving them until they are repaired.

The recall affects some 2015 to 2017 Murano SUVs and 2016 to 2017 Maxima cars as well as some 2015 and 2016 Murano hybrid vehicles.
