Ford Issues Major Recall for 229,000 Bronco and Bronco Sport Vehicles

Ford Issues Major Recall for 229,000 Bronco and Bronco Sport VehiclesRecall Over Safety-Critical Dashboard Failure

Ford is recalling 229,609 of its 2025–2026 Bronco and Bronco Sport vehicles after identifying a defect that could cause the instrument panel cluster to fail during startup. This malfunction can prevent drivers from seeing essential safety information — including warning lights and vehicle speed — creating a serious risk on the road.

The recall, announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Nov. 14, warns that the instrument panel may intermittently fail to illuminate. Ford acknowledges that a blank or unresponsive display can leave drivers unaware of critical vehicle conditions or system warnings.

For affected owners, Ford will issue a free software update, either at a dealership or through an over-the-air (OTA) update. The company has stated that email notifications will begin after Dec. 8, and owners with questions can contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332 using recall number 25SC3.

What This Means for Consumers — Lemon Law Perspective

If your Bronco or Bronco Sport has experienced repeated dashboard or display failures, or if this recall is the latest in a series of electrical or other issues, you may have more than just an inconvenient repair — you may have a lemon.

A recall alone does not qualify a vehicle as a lemon, but:

  • Repeated failures of the display,
  • Multiple visits to the dealership, or
  • Safety-related defects that persist even after repairs can qualify you for a refund or a replacement vehicle under state lemon laws.

Finally, if you’ve experienced ongoing electrical or dashboard issues in a Bronco or Bronco Sport, contact Johnson Attorneys Group at 1-800-558-1087 to request a free review of your situation at no cost and help determine whether you may be entitled to compensation or a buyback.
