Ford F150 Pickup, Ford Explorer Safety Recall
Ford is recalling roughly 200,000 2016 Ford F-150 pickup trucks and Ford Explorer SUVs due to a problem with the vehicle’s front power-adjustable seats.
Roughly 177,000 of the defective vehicles were sold in the United States. The automaker states that a bolt in the seat adjuster system could potentially loosen allowing the seat to shift if there were a collision. If this should happen, the vehicle’s passenger may not be properly restrained and could be injured, or worse, killed.
While there are no known injuries reported so far, Ford dealers are requesting owners bring their vehicles to them for inspection. Should the bolt be defective, a temporary fix will be made until Ford develops appropriate replacement parts.
