Ford Motor Company Recalls Popular Ford F-150 and E-350 Pickup Trucks; 2014-2015 Ford Escape; 2015 Lincoln MKC
Ford Motor Company has announced a recall for 94,605 vehicles including certain 2014 and 2015 F-150 and F-350 pickup trucks, 2014 and 2015 Ford Escape sedans and the 2015 Lincoln MKC.
The problems identified by the U.S. automaker include improperly manufactured bolts that may have been used on the installation of some seats, seat backs, seat belt buckles, and or seat belt anchors. These bolts have been found to fracture and when that happens there is a heightened risk of injury or even death should there be a collision.
The auto manufacturer has notified its dealerships and asked them to replace the defective bolts for car owners at no charge. Owners will be made aware of the problem and they are asked to take their vehicle in to the shop for repairs beginning on August 28, 2017.
