1 Million Mercedes-Benz Vehicles Recalled by Daimler AG Due to Fire Risk

Mercedes Logo - California Lemon AttorneysAfter 51 fires due to a faulty fuse in newer Mercedes-Benz vehicles, Daimler AG (DAIGn.DE)  has announced it will recall roughly one million vehicles worldwide including 307,629 vehicles here in the United States.

The recall involves newer vehicles such as the 2017 models.

While there are no reported injuries or deaths associated with the problem, Mercedes dealerships will not sell an affected vehicles they have in inventory until the fuses are replaced.

The German auto maker is expected to roll out its recall in the U.S. market in July once they have obtained available parts. At least 30 of the 51 fires took place here in America, one of the top three markets where Mercedes are sold. Germany and China are the other top markets.

The company has already made necessary changes to its production of new vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz and Daimler are expected to send out notifications in late March to its U.S. customers.
