270 of the 2019 Toyota Sienna Minivans to be Recalled by Auto Manufacturer
Toyota is recalling roughly 270 2019 Toyota Sienna minivans due to a potential crash risk stemming from faulty welding in the passenger-side door.
The issue, which involves the front passenger door, could potentially affect airbag senor readings. If this should happen, the passenger side front seat and curtain shield airbags may suddenly deploy or may not deploy when needed. This poses a risk to vehicle occupants if there were a collision.
Toyota dealerships will replace the sub-assembly in the passenger-side door with a new one at no cost to owners of these affected vehicles.
Toyota is set to begin notifying owners starting on June 10. They may also call the automaker at 888-270-9371 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236.
