CALIFORNIA (January 25, 2015) — Nearly 87,000 of the 2014 Kia Forte cars are being recalled by its manufacturer Kia Motors America due to a fire risk in the vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The specific vehicles subject to recall were made between December 5, 2012 and April 17, 2014. The defect discovered is a cooling fan resistor that could overheat and melt which could subsequently cause a fire in the vehicles.
